Yoga for Mindfulness & Self-Regulation
While yoga offers many physical benefits, my focus is on using it as a tool to develop mindfulness and improve self-regulation—particularly through breathing exercises and mindful games.
Yoga supports coordination, balance, and strength, but its impact goes far beyond the body. Increasing research highlights its positive effects on mental health. It provides a calm space to slow down, turn attention inward, and disconnect from the constant noise of the outside world. This allows the body and mind to recharge, regulate, and build resilience.
The skills learned on the mat extend beyond the class—they can support children in daily life. Yoga can help improve mental well-being, manage stress, enhance sleep, and even spark creativity.
How Yoga Supports Children

Focus & Mindfulness
Mindful movement and breathwork support concentration, attention span and emotional regulation.
Body Confidence & Creativity
Through playful poses and imaginative themes, children build strength, coordination and a positive relationship with their bodies.

Each offering is designed specifically for your school and its unique requirements.
I have experience teaching yoga in primary schools, from Kindergarten to Year 6. With younger children, I focus on building the foundations of mindfulness and self-regulation, nurturing their creativity through playful yoga games.
For older children, yoga can be particularly beneficial in improving focus and supporting exam preparation through effective stress management techniques.
I also offer yoga sessions during school holiday clubs, with an emphasis on creativity, playfulness, and mindfulness.
In addition, I hold a certificate in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), an evidence-based program that teaches practical tools for managing stress and cultivating awareness.
