Yoga Day Retreat in Tonbridge
This retreat is for you if you feel depleted and need to recharge. Taking time to pause in a busy schedule is crucial to enable the body to recover, strengthen and reset your nervous system.
In qigong and Traditional Chinese Medicine, summer is associated with the fire element. The primary emotion of summer in qigong is joy.
Summer translates in qigong as expansion, joy and connection but can also bring emotional imbalances if the fire element is excessive or deficient.
When joy and the fire element are balanced, it manifests as enthusiasm, love, laughter and emotional warmth.
Aligning ourselves with nature, we will focus on the season of summer. In qigong, the related meridians (or energy lines) of summer are the heart and small intestine organs. We will clear those meridians, unlocking energy and bringing them in balance.
In essence, summer is a time for expansion, warmth, joy and connection but it also requires balance to prevent overheating, restlessness or emotional imbalances.
This retreat will give you time to pause and feel your own energy while moving your body through slow somatic yoga & qigong.
You will feel energised, your tensions released and your energy replenished.

Yoga and Qigong
The movement practice will be a blend of Yoga & Qigong. Qigong is an energy practice involving slow mindful movements. The practice has a nature theme and changes according to the seasons. I work with the meridians to eliminate blockages and reinforce the immune system.
In China, Qigong is used as a preventative medicine.
Yoga Nidra
Yoga Nidra is a restorative practice, a form of guided meditation. You will be lying down on the floor and make yourself as comfortable as you can, using a blanket to cover your body.
You will draw your attention inwards. You will be in a state between awake and asleep, listening to my voice, sound healing will be played to enhance your experience.
Yin Yoga
Yin yoga is a meditative yoga practice that involves holding passive poses for 3 to 5 minutes.
It is based on the Taoist concept of yin and yang, the meridians (energy lines) and incorporates principles of Traditional Chinese medicine.
The stretches can be particularly useful if you feel stiff to increase mobility. It also improves sleep and the immune system as we work with the meridians to eliminate energy blockages.
